MDS Live Chat & Help Desk

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information MDS Live Chat & Help Desk ("the Plugin") collects when installed on a WordPress website, how that information is used, and how it is stored. The Plugin is self-hosted: all data it collects is stored in the database of the website on which it is installed. No data is sent to MDS Store or any third-party server.

Information We Collect

When a visitor starts a chat, the Plugin may collect and store the following:

• Name, email address, and mobile number — provided by guest visitors when starting a chat, or automatically retrieved from the account details of a logged-in customer.
• Chat messages — the full content of conversations between the visitor and support agents.
• Ticket ID and chat status — a unique reference (e.g. MDS-TKT-1001) and its Requesting / Active / Closed state.
• WooCommerce order history — if WooCommerce is active, the Plugin looks up the visitor's past orders and order value using their email or phone number, to help support agents assist them.
• Browser push notification endpoint — if the visitor or admin enables push notifications, the browser's Web Push subscription address is stored so replies can be delivered as native browser notifications.

The Plugin does not collect payment details, passwords, or government ID numbers.

How This Information Is Used

• To connect a visitor's chat with their identity so agents can respond appropriately.
• To show support agents relevant order history when helping a WooCommerce customer.
• To send reply notifications via the browser's native Web Push service.
• To let a customer look up a previous conversation using their Ticket ID and the email/phone used to start it.

Where This Information Is Stored

All chat, ticket, and push-subscription data is stored directly in the WordPress website's own database (custom tables created by the Plugin on activation). It stays on the hosting server of the website where the Plugin is installed. Because the Plugin is self-hosted, MDS Store does not have access to this data, and it is not transmitted to any external chat or push-notification service.

Third-Party Sharing

MDS Live Chat & Help Desk does not sell, rent, or share visitor data with third parties. Push notifications are delivered using each browser's own built-in Web Push service (for example Google's or Mozilla's push relay), which is a standard part of how browser push notifications work and is not a service operated by MDS Store.

Data Retention & Deletion

Chat and ticket data is retained for as long as the website owner keeps it. The Plugin includes a bulk select and delete option so the site administrator can remove chat history at any time. Uninstalling the Plugin does not automatically delete existing data from the database unless the site administrator does so manually.

Your Rights
